Teitur Lassen – or just Teitur - is one of the most interesting singer-songwriters of today.
He has released 3 studio albums: “Stay Under The Stars” (Edel, 2006) which reached gold in Denmark and entered the Top 10.
In 2008 he released “The Singer” (Edel, 2008). The album, totally not commercial and adventurous got the attention of critics and Alternative
Rock fans all over the world. Gained 5 stars reviews like on “The Guardian“ and “The Independent“ while “The Sunday Times“ praised the singer
songwriter’s “wonderfully idiosyncratic talent”.
Teitur concentrates on creating inspiring melodies and gentle but finely observed, often wry and quirkily observant lyrics.
With such a talent and after gaining internationally success it’s no wonder that he also win the Danish Music Award (Grammies) as “Best Singer”
not only in 2007 but also in 2008.
The same year he achieved the next milestone in his career - he opened the main stage of the legendary Roskilde Festival.
Teitur is an incredible talent and serious singer-songwriter the whole world should watch out for.
Before the new album, considered by many “the next big thing“ Teitur is releasing on earMUSIC his beautiful orchestral show on CD and DVD. Since the release of his debut album “Poetry & Aeroplanes“ in 2003 Teitur has toured non-stop, initially playing intimate acoustic shows,
slowly winning bigger and bigger audiences. He often playes live with his trusted “Rock band“ but on the right occasions and locations Teitur presented
his music with the support of a string quartet.
This is what led him, at the end of 2008, to play a special one-off show at the beautiful Opera House in Copenhagen, with his full band, the 10 piece
Danish Television Orchestra and 10 piece Danish Television vocal choir. An unique event for all the fans of this cult singer.
The night featured most of the songs of his latest release “The Singer” plus some other favourites from the previous album.
The show was fi lmed and recorded and the result is this stunning live CD and DVD package.
