Mother’s Army
“The Complete Discography” 3CD
Mother’s Army releases “The Complete Discography” on 4 July 2011 on 3CD via Edel’s international rock label, earMUSIC. Mother's Army was a perfect example of a band created from the most experienced hard-rock musicians in the world: four unique talents; three great albums; one amazing collection.
Singer Joe Lynn Turner is of course known for work with Purple Rainbow, Sunstorm, Over The Rainbow, Big Noise, Deep Purple, Fandango, Howard Leese, Yngwie Malmsteen. Carmine Appice drummed for Travers & Appice, KGB, D.N.A., D.B.A., C.B.A.,Black Roses, Cactus, Vanilla Fudge, Pink Floyd, Beck, Bogert & Appice, King Kobra, Danny Spanos, Ozzy Osbourne, Ted Nugent and Blue Murder. Bassist Bob Daisley was part of Kahvas Jute, Stream, The Rage, Planet Alliance, Living Loud, Vertex, Widowmaker, Chicken Shack, Gary Moore, Takara, Dio, The Hoochie Coochie Men, Yngwie Malmsteen, Rainbow, Ozzy Osbourne, Uriah Heep and Black Sabbath. The group is completed by guitarist Jeff Watson from Jeff Watson and Deacon Street, to create a seriously tight band from the ‘90s with a hardcore, rough ‘70s sound.

Blending the talents of Daisley and stupendous Appice, it’s hard to top Mother’s Army. With hard guitar riffs from Watson and the soaring rock vocals from Turner the music sounds straight from the ‘70s, the real glory-days for rock. The self-titled, debut album “Mother’s Army”, released in ’93 included hits like ‘By Your Side’ or ‘Darkside’. Four years later, 1997 saw their second release “Planet Earth”, and just one year later came the final opus “Fire On The Moon”. Whilst Mother's Army enjoyed success and are remembered fondly, they remain an underrated act; “The Complete Discography” 3CD aims to redress the balance.
