'I Believed In You’ is the first release from Skunk Anansie's 5th studio album 'Black Traffic'. The single will be released digitally on 10th September 2012 with the album release a week later on 14th September 2012. Lyrically, it notes the disappointment many feel about their elected politicians.
"I think a lot of people feel let down by their leaders. Everybody wants us to vote, but who for? They all fuck up because eventually it becomes more about keeping their positions of power than elevating the position of their country".
Musically 'I Believed in You' is tough driving, un-apologetic female fronted rock and roll.

Skunk Anansie return to the UK & Europe after a successful summer festival season last year including Download, Pukkelpop, Lowlands, Pink Pop, Rock En Seine and Heineken Music Festival Italy.

'Black Traffic', the band’s follow-up to the critically acclaimed 2010’s Wonderlustre (Number 1 in Italy and Top 20 across most of Europe) was recorded in London and produced by Skunk Anansie and Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Pixies) and mixed by Jeremy Wheatley and Adrian Bushby.

Skunk Anansie have also developed a bespoke Facebook app to engage fans to spread the video for 'I Believed in You.'  By signing up fans are given a unique YouTube code; the more they share and have friends click on the video the more points they are rewarded. The App will host a live leader board and on album release (17th September) the winners will be announced:

'Black Traffic' will be the bands first independent release via their own label working in partnership with earMUSIC. The album is set for a September 2012 release and will be backed by the first leg of an extensive 20 date European Tour.
