SAVATAGE return on vinyl!

US-American heavy metal icons SAVATAGE are one of the most influential bands in their genre. Founded 1981 by brothers Jon and Criss Oliva in Florida, the band met producer Paul O’Neill in the mid-1980s while touring with Motörhead – and the rest is history.


They have earned their legendary status amongst the Metal community for effortlessly blending relentless Power Metal sounds with a progressive and experimental approach, resulting in some of the genres best concept albums. In 2021, earMUSIC will pay tribute to SAVATAGE with a carefully curated vinyl reissues series of all studio albums:


From Sirens (1983) to Poets And Madmen (2001), all albums will be heading back to stores on finest vinyl after having been sought after by fans and collectors for a long time. 

The records will become available in strictly limited coloured LP collector’s editions as well as on heavyweight black vinyl. All mastered for vinyl for the best audio quality possible, all reissued with enhanced artwork (including new archive photos & memorabilia) and extensive liner notes.

 Originally released in 1991, the group’s first rock opera tells of a rock star who ultimately overcomes the demons of his drug-dealing past to achieve spiritual salvation.

This Savatage classic is being reissued as a Heavyweight Double LP Gatefold Edition on Black Vinyl, along with a Limited Collector's Edition on Ocean Blue Vinyl. Both editions are mastered for vinyl and reissued with the original cover design, specially enhanced artwork, including a 12pages LP booklet with extensive liner notes by Clay Marshall.

Savatage’s 1989 studio album "Gutter Ballet" is exploring a more progressive sound.

To quote producer Paul O’Neill: “Savatage was graduating from being a heavy metal band to becoming more than a heavy metal band. On Mountain King, we had toyed with a little bit of a more symphonic, progressive side, but we hadn’t taken it as deep as we did on Gutter.”
