In their new music video, Angra return to show the duality portrayed daily in humanity through light and shadow. The music chosen for this visual representation is “Light of Transcendence”, the opening track of the last studio album “ØMNI“. Carefully directed by Thiago Kiss, who recently worked with Alírio Netto in his last work “Back to the Light”, several guests participate in the video, among these different artists and friends of Angra, such as the performer “Coveiro Maldito”, the monk Dada and very special extras.

“I am very happy that we are finally releasing the video of ‘Light of Transcendence’,” says guitarist and vocalist Rafael Bittencourt. “The music is very special, it has the typical speed metal sound that Angra is known for, but at the same time it’s different. Just imagine a fast and heavy song with lyrics that could well have been written by a spiritual band. Unusual, right? And this was done intentionally, because I wanted to write lyrics that do not fit the stereotype of power metal, but that show a connection between diverse ideas, religions, and everything that exists.”

The video seeks to bring deep concepts and renew a musical genre that has been stigmatized to only deal with the fantasy themes of dragons and swords. But humans are looking for concepts that help them in their own lives. The power metal sound is dramatic and gives a sense of urgency to this theme, but the stand-out lyrics of “Light of Transcendence” are something Angra fans should pay attention to, because they explain the connection between what is finite, what is born and what dies or even what is material, and what is infinite, transcendental, full and constant.

The concept of “ØMNI” has been greatly worked out in this song.

The music video is the result of a close connection between Angra and director Thiago Kiss. “I’m goods friends with Thiago”, explains Bittencourt. “And when we decided to make the music video for this song, I told him: Listen to the music, read and tell the story carefully, but do it with your own ideas. You are free to do whatever you want.”

Currently formed by Fabio Lione (vocals), Rafael Bittencourt (guitar and vocals), Marcelo Barbosa (guitar), Felipe Andreoli (bass) and Bruno Valverde (drums), Angra are excited about this new phase and the release of this video clip. The band is touring the album “ØMNI” all over the planet, with more than 100 confirmed dates in 2018 and new plans for 2019 to follow.
